From pregnancy to the early years
Know what this week holds.
Where we have guidance for your country, Proactive Parent shows what this week of pregnancy holds and reminds you on the day. Wherever you are, logging your baby’s day takes a tap.
Coming soon to the App Store, for iPhone
This week, not a search box.
Open the app and this week is already there. You don’t need to know what to look for.
Week by week
A card for each week of pregnancy, taken from a named public source.
Appointments for your stage
Antenatal appointments and scans on one timeline: what’s coming and what’s done. For now, for care in England.
Reminders on the day
A nudge on the morning something is due, once your quiet hours end. Nothing you’ve already missed is pushed at you, and the lock screen never says what it’s about.
What you see depends on where you’re cared for, and for now it’s written for a pregnancy with one baby. See where it works today
Log it in a tap, or say it.
Big, bright tiles for the things you do all day and all night, with timers for feeds, sleep and contractions.
Feeds
Breast, bottle or solids. Switch sides mid-feed, or feed twins together.
Pumping
Left, right or both, timed with a tap, and the amount when you stop.
Sleep
Naps and nights, started and stopped with a tap.
Routines
Bath, wind-down, bedtime: one tap when it’s done.
Nappies
Wet, dirty or both, in a second.
Growth
Weight, length and head size, in kilograms and centimetres, or pounds and inches for a baby in the US.
Health
Temperatures, medicines, vaccinations and appointments, kept as a log.
Firsts
Smiles, rolls and first words, in your own words.
Kicks and contractions
A kick counter and a contraction timer, plus your weight and blood pressure.
Meet Daphne.
Tap the button in the middle of the app and say what happened. Daphne writes it down. If you’d rather not talk, type to her instead.
Daphne records things and answers questions about what you’ve recorded. She doesn’t give advice: ask her for some and she’ll tell you that your midwife, health visitor or doctor can help.
Logging works with no signal. Daphne needs a connection.
“Daphne, the baby fed on the left at three.”
“When did the baby last feed?”
Built for real families.
Share with the people who help
Invite a partner, a grandparent or a nanny. A parent sees every child; a caregiver or viewer, such as a grandparent or nanny, sees only the children you choose.
Pregnancy records stay yours
Kicks, contractions, weight and blood pressure belong to the person who’s pregnant, and are shared only if they choose.
Twins and triplets
Log for one baby, or for all of them at once. After birth, each has their own timeline.
Born early
Add the weeks of pregnancy at birth, and the app shows your baby’s corrected age beside their age.
Who did what
Every record says who logged it, so ‘when did she last feed?’ has an answer at 4am.
Where the guidance comes from.
Where an official source exists, we use it: the card is copied word for word from a named public source, with a link to the page it came from.
Where there is none — there is no official week-by-week guide to a baby’s first year — we write the card ourselves, from what public health services and widely used parenting guides say, and it is marked “Written by Proactive Parent”. It is general information: it gives no doses, never names what might be wrong, and for anything about your or your baby’s health it sends you to your midwife, health visitor or doctor.
For families in the UK, that source is the NHS website. Proactive Parent is independent: it is not affiliated with the NHS, and the NHS does not endorse it.
For families in the US, it is the Office on Women’s Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. We’re not affiliated with them either, and they do not endorse the app.
Guidance follows where you’re cared for. It is never translated from another country’s.
Where it works today.
Logging, sharing, Daphne and working offline are the same wherever you are. Guidance, and the reminders that come with it, follows where you’re cared for: three countries have their own, and everywhere else has general guidance with nothing local in it. We never show you another country’s.
